Predictions/ expanding vocabulary
Charolotte's Web is a classic that has always been one of my favorites. I read it as a child and am now currently reading it from an adult's perspective. This book is currently our "read aloud" book of the week. I read a book to my children once a week and they love this one! I ask them prediction questions as we go through the book and they love guessing what will happen next. Also, this book is great to use for word walls or vocabulary expansion. The kids love learning new words. For example, tonight we read objectionable and they learned what it meant. I would use this book in my classroom just as I did with my children. My target audience would be about 4th-5th grade!
